Description

This project aims to develop a synchronized wearable data acquisition system that simultaneously monitors SpO2 and respiratory signals using custom sensors integrated with a Raspberry Pi or National Instruments board. The system will be synchronized with reference sensors and incorporate cardiac output measurements where possible, with optimal sensor placement determined through anatomical analysis. The project involves simulating sleep apnea events to quantify the temporal relationship between SpO2 decline and apnea onset, then developing predictive models using both regression analysis and neural networks to map this time differential to cardiac output parameters. Through comprehensive validation against clinical reference standards, this research will advance wearable health monitoring technology and provide clinicians with enhanced diagnostic capabilities for sleep disorders while contributing valuable insights into cardiorespiratory interactions during apneic episodes.
