Description
Early September, the office will upload the list of all groups (student name/ID/program/group number) and the associated supervisors. The application implements a DB to store the groups, and a web page to allow dept. Administrator to upload a spreadsheet with the groups data During the project development, supervisor(s) and second reader will submit the marks and comments of the milestones (Proposal, progress report, oral presentation, poster, final report). Marks will be made available to students individually. The capstone project is currently associated to many Graduate Attributes (GAs). Some of the GAs will be assessed by the supervisor(s). Some of them, such as GA6 individual/team work could also involved students input in the form of surveys. The app will have a web page to allow supervisors to input their assessment for each student of their groups and a survey to allow each student to self-evaluate their competencies and/or to assess their team members contribution to the project. The app should have the option to modify the list of GAs before the project starts and to select the specific GAs that will be evaluated. The app should have a web page to allow supervisor(s) and second reader to propose a project final grade for each student, to submit their comments regarding the overall work and to save the final grade assigned to the student. At the end of the winter term, the app will produce a spreadsheet with the final grade assigned to each student and the GAs measured for each student. The app will have a login page; users could either students, admin, or designer, each of which will have access to different sections of the app. Option to consider : Implement a portfolio that allows the group and each member of the group to post the progress, intermediate solutions, team discussions summary. This would be a great place for students to highlight their personal contributions and to include a link to their portfolio in their resume. Technical constraints : The server can only be Apache/PHP/MariaDB
