Description

The SWall project (http://sce.carleton.ca/swall/) is a wall of four touch screens between ME blocks 3 and 4 on the 4th floor. The wall is also equipped with a camera (Kinect) and can accommodate other devices. Students are encouraged to suggest new ideas of Apps that can be created, installed, and run on the SWall. Content can be fun, educational ... Multiple teams can work concurrently on different aspects of the wall, multiple ideas for the wall. One possible topic is an extension to a previous project that aimed at replicating (with navigation and control through the Kinect) a Code City (https://wettel.github.io/codecity.html). Another possible topic is to control by means of devices that equip the sWall, a tethered drone through the internet. Teams with members from different undergraduate programs are encouraged. Pay attention however to the fact that your own contribution to the project should be in line with your degree program. Team members from different programs must make sure that their contribution to the project is in line with their program.

Prerequisites:

The purpose of an app can vary a great deal, and therefore the project is open to all listed programs. This being said, since an app is essentially software, strong software developments skills are necessary.
